AWIA dues are based on the total number of persons affiliated with your agency. This number is obtained by adding the total number of person working in an insurance capacity as stockholder, partners, individual proprietors, licensed persons and all other employees who work twenty (20) hours or more per week in the insurance business for your agency.
Membership dues are an investment, payable annually, in advance, by July 15th each year for the fiscal year, July 1-June 30 and are fully earned when paid. To the extent that AWIA en-gages in lobbying, the portion of the dues that relate to lobbying expenses is not deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. The non-deductible portion of the dues for 2017-2018 is 12%.
Membership is subject to suspension if dues are not paid by October 1st.
