The Association of Wyoming Insurance Agents (AWIA) was formed in 1995 by consolidating two other fine organizations - the Independent Insurance Agents of Wyoming (IIAW) and the Professional Insurance Agents of Wyoming (PIA-WY). Both organizations had a history spanning many decades of service to the insurance industry in Wyoming.  The roots of the organization go back to 1933.

When you join AWIA as a state organization, you automatically become a member of two national organizations, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America and the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents. Through these national organizations, you have access to all of its member benefits, such as benefits include Errors & Omissions Insurance, Group Health Plans, Educational Benefits, Legislative & Lobbying Efforts, Information Resources, Market & Placement Assistance and more
